I really enjoy how diverse the district is with all of my teachers and faculty staff I come across! There are a lot of fun and enjoyable clubs to be in with food made for everyone! What we are taught in school is very enjoyable and full of classroom laughter. The district focuses on a lot of high school seniors with college readiness and being able to take part in the colleges you are looking at.86% of employees would recommend working at Lamar CISD to a friend and 69% have a positive outlook for the business excellent place to work at. Lamar Consolidated Independent School District is a large and growing educational community. this is a good place to work .supporting the community and environment. good people around .supports you most of the time.If you have some emergency come help. A larger number of schools in this district are rated above average in school quality great School District to work for. The pay raise each year that I was there due to cost of living adjustments.
Lamar CISD has provided an excellent education for both my children in the past 10 years. They have experienced tremendous growth over the last decade and with it's caring district and school leadership, they have risen up to the difficult and demanding task of meeting the needs of all families and students in the district. With the demands of CoVID, I am pleased with the manner in which they have responded to families and have continued to pivot in times of uncertainty. Two years ago, my daughter was involved in a traumatic accident, and the schools and teachers and counselors at her high school responded with so much concern, love, and care. This has been one of the main reasons she was able to finish and get through her high school career. Each and every person makes a difference in the lives of our children, from the decisions being made at the district level, all the way down to the teacher level. These decisions are well considered and I give Lamar high regards for this!
The curriculum is challenging, but the teachers are great. They’re patient and willing to let you stay back if you need extra help. The food isn’t always great or amazing, but it is edible compared to most school food. There’s a bit of a clique, hierarchy, and jock problem with a side of bullying, but they have a strong policy against it. If reported, there’s likely to be disciplinary action taken against the person. The school itself is very culturally diverse with students from all over the globe. You’re bound to find your own people, and if not, you can make your own path. Overall, it’s a great environment, and the staff are just so friendly and helpful!
