Lakota Local School District (Liberty Township) Reviews
I just graduated from Lakota in 2019 and I had such an amazing and positive experience there! There are so so many amazing teachers from kindergarten to senior year I remember so many impactful teachers that made my school experience so amazing and who inspired me to major in Early Childhood Education, so I can become an amazing teacher like them one day! Lakota does a fantastic job preparing students for college too and it made my transition into college really smooth. Lakota’s art program especially Metals and AP 3D art at Lakota East is amazing and was one of my favorite parts of my school experience! All around amazing school district!
I honestly think class sizes are getting way to big. My daughter had 28 kids in her class and her friend had 30 at one point. I also believe they could do more to keep the fighting from stopping. My children often come home with stories about how so and so got in a fight with so and so. The academic is decent but the environment isn't safe child wise. I wish they would take more discipline with things such as bad words and insults, as well as fighting. The teacher's though are wonderful and very good at communication from my experience. All in all it is a decent school district but needs better punishment. I also have been told by my child that kid's with disabilities are treated different. My child also wants a really good college and I fear that that is almost impossible with the chaos and over crowdedness in the classrooms. If only the district wasn't reworked
My children attend Lakota district schools, and I myself have work as a substitute in this district. There is a sense of community and the sincere care and commitment shown by the administration and staff provide reassurance that they have the student's best interest at heart. This district strives to provide the student with the best education/experience possible.
