Lakota Local School District (Liberty Township) Reviews
Lakota Local School's is a great district and i'm happy to be a part of it. I did like attending there but i do not like the morals of the district. The district seems to focus more on maintaining a good reputation rather than bettering their students. They focus on sports and getting the best of the best rather than helping those who have dreams and are struggling. Sports were all about favoritism. I was a good student and didn't struggle with classes of work, but there were students around me struggling an unable to get help in between the teachers praise for those doing well, it was degrading. It is a great district but i believe it is not my type.
The community involvement is what sets this district apart from others. Parents, teachers, and students are supportive of one another. My high school schedule is flexible and that has helped keep the majority of students engaged. I'd like to see district officials work on bringing transportation back especially for junior high and freshman students. Parents are sometimes at a loss as to how their children will get to and from school safely. It puts pressure on working parents.
Our principles are a great example of how determined and family-oriented the environment is in the lakota high schools, lakota is competitive but encourage supporting each other as well as uplifting each other. Each graduating class has different adjusting issues, be it difficulties with essays because of the texting trends, or learning a new language because of a influx on transfer students from other countries, they fix the year to best equip their students while showing how it applies to everyday life so the students will be more eager to learn and keep the information given.
