Lakeshore School District Reviews
Lakeshore is a welcoming environment for new students. Extra-curriculars are available for a variety of interests. Teachers are accessible and academics are as rigorous as your student chooses. CTE programs are valued and invested in by not only the district, but the community. The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation is highly supportive of staff and students. The Kohn Family has donated numerous athletic fields giving our student athletes some of the very best competitive experiences in the area. Whether your student is pursuing a trade or a college degree, there are classes and programs to explore. Lakeshore Marching Band has been a state champion for the past 4 years, and the advanced choral ensembles have received the highest ratings for several years.
I loved attending Lakeshore Schools. It offered a wonderful support to grow and learn as a student in the community. I fell as though the community should invest more money into the school system. As a small community they take pride in the sports, academic, and art programs. I would love to see that support reflected in more monetary funding. I fell that the overall school is old, and could use some updating. They all have received additions/ fixes over the years...but in comparison to other top schools these are a bit dated in some parts of the buildings.
Lakeshore Schools are typically quite strong. There are always a few poor teachers (mainly in the middle school), and the food is below average. However, Lakeshore performs well academically and provides a good curriculum for just about any kid, whether they plan on attending college or not. The CTE programs and Industrial programs really impress me (despite the fact I mainly take AP classes); my friends that participate in these programs appreciate them. The administration is kind and overall attentive to the students. Sports are really strong at Lakeshore, especially football and wrestling. What I like about Lakeshore the most is how involved it is with the community and what a healthy relationship the community and school have. Lakeshore has a great, caring environment
