A small town school surrounded by not much other than trees and cows. Who would have thought some of the best friendships I will ever make would come from this little school in the depths of Pennsylvania. Being in a graduating class made up of 76 students is something most people would look at as way to small. Over the last 13 years I have formed a personal bond with nearly every student I graduated with and can confidently say we were more like a family then a “class.” I was also an athlete having played football, baseball and basketball. Watching the way our small community rallied together around every sports team is truly something that changes the way live your life. It’s not always about the being the biggest or smartest or most expensive school. Sometimes strength in unity and strength in family overcomes everything. I would not trade my 13 years at Lackawanna Trail Junior Senior Highschool for anything.
Poor academic standards. Poor curriculum in high school. Lack of spending on academic resources. Few extra curriculars other than sports. Lack of elective offerings in high school. Should have listened to my realtor's advice and bought a home in a different District.
Lackawanna Trail is a very small school district which I loved. You get to know everyone and I love the atmosphere. Also some of the sports at Lackawanna Trail are super good which gets a lot of the school involved and makes it to where there are some common interests. One thing I do not like about Lackawanna Trail and that I think should be changed, is the the teaching and readiness for college. There are only a few teachers who get student prepared for college and a few of the teachers are teaching higher level classes than they should. I also wish the the food was better and more appealing with more options.
