Lackawanna City School District Reviews
I liked the diversity that the school provided and the environment that was created by the teachers and students. Everyone was welcomed and there was such a tremendous feeling of love and welcoming within the school. Everyone was accepting and caring of one another despite race, ethnicity and/or religion. The teachers worked non stop to create such a unified community within the school environment. I definitely enjoyed my time at LHS.
I would like to see more activities for students to participate in. I would also like to see our school provide students with lower grades to opportunity that they provide the P-Tech students, to help them ensure a place they could successfully look into their future and be sure they can make it somewhere other than a fast food place in life.
There is no teacher, parent communication at all. They are making children in kindergarten take common core and removed all activities and values the children and parents wanted and expected. There policy for no bullying is not effective, the teachers or principal do not contact parents when a problem does happen. I wish i chose a different school system for my child for kindergarten. Don't expect pretty drawings, a graduation ceremony, or a happy child. What you will get is an exhausted child, lots of homework, (common core) no activities that involves the parents. All this school system cares about is nys testing to get grants , not the children or the parent's
