La Vernia Independent School District Reviews
I’ve gone to school here since I was in first grade. I quickly made friends and to this day the majority of the student body is very friendly. Although, the administration and coaches have allowed the cheer leaders to feel like they have a power position and not only are they allowed to get away with pretty much everything, they are allowed to create any allegation they deem fit and then administration will side with them. If this was fixed and normal student body (non-cheerleader) could feel like they were on the same level as the cheerleading department this school would be better for everyone.
I liked the school spirit the students and teachers brought at my high school this year. Though I did not like the administration trying to limit our school spirit. For instance at football games, out student section is located on the opposite side from the band and we were not allowed to bring many props. I also do not like how hard it is for teachers to request for help or a change in something then it never get done or get done very late. Many of my teachers are wonderful and have shaped my life in more ways than others. However, there are also other teachers who have failed to further encourage my education as well as other students. When parents have brought this attention to the administration, nothing is done or changed in the class. Overall though, I am thankful to attend a high school that challenges me and has provided me with many opportunities.
My experience here at La Vernia High School has really changed my life for the better. I came here from Louisiana at the second semester and came here for the second half of Junior year and all my senior year. Going into this transition for me was really interesting for me, since everybody on my senior class already knew each other and all were excited to graduate in 2018. Junior year went by so quick that i really don't remember much of it, but i have so many good memories of Senior year. The first week of Senior Year was literally all i could have asked for. However, as I got more settled in, I started to break out of that bubble that I Had and soon after, I started being more involved in school activities. If it wasn't for her, I definitely would not be the person that I am today. Overall, it was the best experience i could have asked for.
