Overall, I enjoyed my time at Kirtland. The sports were well organized and we had a good amount of options. Teachers were helpful and did not overload us with homework and busy work. Although it was a smaller sized school, there were still enough people to have a good time. The dances were alright, no real complaints. Guidance counselors were also helpful and listened to students. I always felt safe at school and never felt in danger. If I were to change anything, I would add parking spots and integrate more fun activities throughout the year.
I like the people and how they are very helpful. They have a lot of activities for students to do, such as sports, clubs and other things that help them be happy and never stop learning. I also love the school because it is so welcoming to everyone in every way. The teachers are very nice and helpful with helping us learn new things each day.
What did you like least about Kirtland school district?
The thing that I didn't like most was when we had a snow day because we had to stay at home instead of going outside but it's not really a big deal since we still get our work done during this time.
The only change I would make is to improve the STEM classes at Kirtland.

Let me make this simple. Kirtland is a wonderful place IF you fall under these categories:
1. A straight, white male
2. Play football
Sure, academics are decent (hence the additional star). But what good does that do if you're faced with discrimination every day?
If you are a POC, disabled, a woman, or a member of the LGBT community, this place will do it's best to tear you down. You will not feel 100% safe here.
Here, they protect racists, homophobes, misogynists, and ableists because they're "good kids." Does a "good kid" use the n-word four times a day and call people f*gs and r*tards?
Are you willing to get an education at the cost of your mental and possibly physical health? I’m not sure why I’m appalled by the inner workings of this school. After all, it is a small, sheltered town that no one has ever heard of unless you live directly around it.
This Is America. Racists, misogynists, homophobes, xenophobes, and ableists thrive here. This town is a breeding ground.
