Coming into this district in the middle of my freshman year, the environment, students, and staff were extremely welcoming. It was a very easy transition in a tough time. Having been in this school for 3 years now, I've seen how connected the community is within our school and its activities, how close everyone is to each other and the staff, and how supportive our environment is. I felt so disconnected when I moved here and now I've never felt more at home. Our staff is supportive and truly care about how I'm doing, both academically and emotionally. The students are super involved and always looking to have fun and stay connected. Our spirit is high which makes the days super exciting.
The district achieves wonderful things considering what they have to work with! Teachers are wonderful! They have had to be creative when it comes to making a classroom function when each class is filled to the max with students. The district is growing but the facilities are not. If only we could get the community on board to pass those levies so we can make this a five star school!
Overall Kings is a very good school. They make efforts to improve learning experience, provide their students with options, all while trying to keep a fun environment, and they genuinely care about how their students do. I only don’t give it the five stars because there are a few classes I took where the teacher may not have shared the philosophy that the school has that I listed above, that the “gifted program” needs a little more organizing, and revamping the facilities for more schooling space, sports, and arts could help. But overall as I said, the staff does care about their students and are accommodating to situations, and do their best to make sure that students are getting the material and guidance they need to succeed. They also have a pretty good athletic program that also allows for students who may not play a certain sport a ton to learn how. They also have a good instructors in their theater and music programs in my experience.
