I have been a student in this school distract for approximately 14 years, from preschool to high school graduate. My experience has been overall an okay one but I believe academic standards aren't being met effectively.
My city's school district is extremely caring and understanding of others. They are always focused on doing the best for the students. I have attended three schools under this district and they have been the best years. Always have solutions for everything. When the situation with COVID occurred, they were quick to take a decision to help keep us safe. Something that I would definitely change is to provide more services for students, such as having more counseling for students that will soon enter college.
What I liked about this district is that there are lots of opportunities for parent involvement. In addition there are a wide range of AP classes and honors courses which are offered to the students. However, the condition of the facilities are terrible. Most often than not, there is no toilet paper in the stalls nor soap in the dispenser. The teaching methods of several teachers seem outdated and do not challenge the students. In addition to this, when there is an emergency on campus, the parents are usually the last ones notified and students are not aware of what's going on.
