I quite enjoy the teachers who are fully passionate about their students and teaching! We have some amazing administrators as well. I've gone through two elementary schools and now a middle school with my children, but also myself went to these public schools, and I feel they are great! If you have any issues, speak up, BOE (board of education) will hear you out!
The STEM program is wonderful and challenging. The schools offer a variety of activities in the arts, sports, and clubs, but put focus on academics first. Only a few student athletes are removed each year from their teams due to low academic performance, in comparison with other counties. Parent involvement is high and there are many opportunities to volunteer. The high school offers a variety of programs for students with different talents and abilities. The main underlying theme throughout the schools is that is that every child can learn and experience success.
I graduated in 2018 from Kent County High School. I attended all 14 years in this system. I feel fortunate to have gotten through before the big changes in curriculum happened. I feel as I had a great start and was somewhat prepared for college. However I have watched my sister and brother struggle and feel as though they will not be prepared for a four year university.
