The teachers are diverse in this district. Every teacher's different but so far the teaches I've had are nice and make a closer relationship to help you succeed. Always willing to find time before or after school to help students catch up with work or with tutoring. The change would simply be the district's way of handling student involvement so graduation rates keep rising. I think a major reason why we don't have the percentage desired is because there's not enough classes that interest students to continue school. The district could create classes that will help students who decide not to go to college, for the work force. The SPED program would be better if the district supports them more. The staff is very friendly always making sure their student's needs are always met. They joined me go to my college visits which I highly appreciated it. They asked questions making sure that my needs would be met. And helped me by introducing me to people that would help me for my future.
Kansas City public schools are not very good. I go to Sumner Academy of Arts & Sciences, this is the best school in the state and the best school in my district as well. My school is great. Although the schools around me are not so great. Their academic ablility lacks in all levels. Their teacher are not good, their sports are alright. Over all my district kind of sucks. Their ability to prepare their students is not good. Safety is not so good as well. For example on April 28, 2022, a mass window breaking on student's cars went on and almost 20 cars per school were damaged. Saftey here is not good. Overall, Kansas City public Schools is among the worst in the State.
I like how even with the poor economy and low economy neighborhood they still strive to put an effort with good teachers and good opportunities. We have programs like free college classes in high school, tec which is bringing high school students to Kansas City Kansas Community College tec center and getting hands on experience. Which you can get certified from, from being still in high school. Different things include nail tech, cosmetology, CNA and more. Both of these being added to our public schools. It's an effort to make things better and easier for students. Although, there is more things the district and my school can work on, for all the resources we have it's great.
