Kaneland Community Unit School District No. 302 Reviews
My experience attending the Kaneland Schools has had a great impact on how I view many things in life. Coming from a smaller school in Maple Park- sure we are not the biggest school with the most amount of money and resources, however it is the opportunities and faculty that make the smaller school great. In our community, being a senior I have seen many of my past teachers, all they way from Kindergarten, and they still remember me and put in the time and effort to hear about how things have been, intrigued to hear about my plans for the future. Again being from a small school, there are a TON of clubs, sports, and other activities that anyone can join to stay involved. This overall “small school” experience has helped me see how much of an impact I can make on a community, which I hope to carry along with me where ever it is I end up next! Thank you Kaneland, I am PROUD to be a KHS Knight!
This school has some incredible teachers that you can form lasting bonds with, and the choral program is wonderful-the teacher puts so much work into it and creates amazing experiences for his students. Kaneland also has many clubs, but they deserve more funding rather than a ton of money going to football when our team isn't great. The diversity is bad as well, because it's in a rural area, only 2% African American. The counselors are assigned and I got one that does not help me at all! It's very discouraging because I'm trying to figure out future colleges and schedules on my own basically. There are only one or two good counselors. Aside from that, Kaneland is a pretty good school, and I have learned many things and the importance of hard work.
Kaneland high school is a very good high school to attend! It has multiple options for you to get involved. The only bad thing I would say about this school is that they are transitioning into standards based grading, which does not get the students college ready and is harder on students.
