For these past four years, I can say I've been blessed and very fortunate to go to Joplin High School. The staff and administration have done a lot to ensure my success as a student. They have prepared me better than I could've ever imagined. I only speak for myself; however, as I know not everyone's experience has been pleasant. My friends and teacher relations have been great boasts to ensure my satisfaction and happiness during my time here. This school isn't perfect though. Culturally, there are a few glaring issues that are seemingly never solved, nor has there been any real attempt at solving them. Some teachers aren't very committed, and there are a lot of questionable discipline issues that occasionally occur. The student-school relation doesn't always feel tight, and communication can be frustrating at times. Parking can be frustrating especially when the staff steals student spots and leaves the staff lot empty. Overall, JHS is a very good school with only a few issues.
I have had a great experience at Joplin Schools. They have great teachers who are always wanting their students to succeed. Our administration has done a great job and always making sure their students are being taken care of. There are a lot of classes offered at the high school, and the kids in elementary and middle school are getting taken care of.
I have been going to Joplin High School since second semester of my freshmen year. I have loved the experience that I have had at this school. I have made long lasting friendships and have learned a lot. However, I wish there was a second high school because I feel like the counselors, principals, and other administrative staff have a lot on their plate and if they had a second high school, they could focus more on more students a day.. Other than that, I love going to school and learning alongside my friends.
