Jamestown School District No. 1 Reviews
The experience is very different due to it being a smaller town and me being from a very large city. When I came to college there, I wasn't really knowing what to expect. I am 20 hours from home, didn't know anyone, but the people and the town soon became my family. Everyone is polite and always willing to help the students in that community whether it being jobs or if they are just a few dollars short on a food bill. The town enjoys having a college there. It gives people something to do such as watching football, basketball, hockey, etc or going to a theatrical play, concert or art show. Also, the college gives back by the students volunteering in many ways to pay back for all the support given from the community.
I like the teachers. I would like to see the priorities of the school administrators and school board shift more towards academic success instead of athletics, since there is a large disparity in focus, funding, and recognition between the two.
Jamestown High School overall is a pretty good school. They have a nice location, and the facility is up to date. However; the school lacks on student to student relationships and doesn’t offer fair treatment at times.
