My time within the Jackson County School System has helped prepare me for my road ahead. The opportunities to participate in different areas of interest assisted in broadening my horizons as well as expanding my leadership skills along the way. Jackson County invests in their students education and personal development. The system has implemented wonderful sports programs, a vast range of fine arts programs and encourage students of all learning types by providing a career based learning or accelerated learning programs using AP, IB, and Work Based Learning Programs to give the students an opportunity to find their niche wherever it may be. I have a sibling in the special education program and Jackson County does an amazing job assisting students who have different learning abilities.
Jackson County Schools are very inclusive when it comes to extracurriculars, sports, and academics. There is something for everyone, whether they want to join a club that fits their hobbies/interests, a sport they enjoy playing, or challenge themselves with high level classes. You can even start your own club if there is not one made that you would really like to see come to life. The teachers are very helpful as well as admin, as they try to be flexible and fit the needs of students and parents. There is the occasional teacher that isn't so helpful and could provide a better school environment for students to thrive in. The counselors are wonderful, helpful, and super nice. They do a great job at not leaving anyone out even though they have a lot on their plate, especially with us seniors. The janitorial staff work hard to keep everything clean like the bathrooms, classrooms, and hallways, and we really appreciate that. Lastly, the overall school spirit in the school is very lively:)
I have spent the last four years in Jackson County. I have had many good experiences, but also somewhere I have not felt the safest at the school. The teachers and administration are good and care about students doing well!
