Ironwood Area Schools is a small rural school. There is very little cultural diversity and acceptance of outsiders. Opportunities are limited and faculty fails to adequately prepare students for college. This is due to the lack of resources in the area. The school is making an attempt to improve the resources available. The improvement of resources is allowing the underclassmen to better prepare themselves. The majority of teachers are friendly and helpful. They, along with the staff, genuinely care about the students within the school. Additionally, Ironwood's athletic and music clubs are excellent. For a small rural school the clubs at Ironwood Area Schools provide fantastic opportunities for students of all ability ranges. Overall, I was satisfied with my time at Ironwood Area Schools.

One of the things that I liked about attending Ironwood Area Schools was being able to participate in many activities because of the relatively small number of students in our highschool. Over the years I have had very good teachers that helped me prepare for college and others that did not prepare me that much. I had the opportunity to dual enrollment at a local community college and receive college credit the last 2 years. This is a huge bonus because I should be able to graduate with a year of college already done. Not all highschool's have this opportunity that I am grateful for. The luches at our school are not the greatest and that is always a hot topic for debate at many times in the school year. Our school did the best that they could with the resources they had and I am proud to go to school here.
The teachers and staff are all very supportive. IWD K-12 school helps to prepare your child has a great academic program and prepares your child for the future. My children love attending this school.
