Good things are happening at Ionia Public schools. Administration, teachers and parents are working together to make the best possible learning environment for school students. An increase in opportunities through the joint venture with the ISD and Heartlands Institute of technology and added Advanced Placement classes has helped grab the attention of students looking to go forward into trades or college.
The opportunity to dual enroll is a benefit and allows for greater selection of courses as many of the AP/Honors offerrings have been rescinded due to budget cuts. Many of the teachers care and provide a good educational base for continuing on in higher education.
Ionia Public Schools has been working towards positive and orderly conduct the past few years under new principal leadership. Recent grants have also allowed this. Overall, I enjoy my time at the school but there is a lot of things that could be improved.
