I believe the Elk River Public School District is an average district based on my experiences in K-12. Of the many elementary schools, I attended 3 of the. Although my memories towards my younger years are limited, I understood that I had a great childhood in elementary schools with the education and the interaction with the teachers were fabulous and I never forgot any of their names. I remember the care and patience all of them had for all of their students as if they were their own children. In terms of middle school, the faculty were far from caring and patient besides the few teachers who did not hand out lunch duty to wipe down the tables so that the staff did not have to, which I felt like they cared about more than our education in some instances. High school was really what we made of it, of course. The teachers let you decide your future but were encouraging of your success. However, too many instances of discrimination and bullying existed within the school walls.
I enjoyed most of the teachers, and the different option in schooling. Personally I went to ERHS and I believe that while there are things that could be improved on in the system that overall it is a safe schooling environment.
The school gave me an overall great experience. They offered so many different clubs and sports. Every type of person could at least find one thing to get involved in. I was able to join yearbook and it opened up y opportunities in digital media arts. We have a lot of hands-on classes that allow us as students to really get a feel for different fields of study. They really try to get everyone involved in something so it's more than just being a typical student here. I think this is something that definitely has helped make students feel a part of the school rather than just a random student.
