Idalou Independent School District Reviews
I have gone to Idalou schools for all my years of schooling and it has been a great school to me. The classrooms are nice, we have a very large library, and the school spirit is great. I love this school, but one thing they (the admin) take too seriously is the dress code. Someone can be barely out of code and will be sent to the office to be forced to change and receive a detention. Of the few things I would like to see change is how the different sports programs are treated. The football program receives the most funding, when it does not really need it, the basketball program allows the players to receive new uniforms every year, while the softball and baseball programs do not even have their own locker rooms or lights on the field.
I came to Idalou, which is a 3A school, from Whiteface CISD, a 1A school. I liked Idalou because it was also a small school compared to the other surrounding schools around Lubbock. At Idalou, teachers make sure you're doing what you can to achieve your greatest level of success and accomplishment.
the sports were good, the teachers were terrible. prepared you for a staar text not college. was one of the worst experiences of my life. the school was filled with a bunch of bullies. not just the students were bullies, it was the teachers as well. i would never consider putting my children in this school district. if you are moving into the area i would suggest enrolling your kids in New Deal, Abernathy, Lubbock Cooper, Frenship, Lubbock high, Shallowater, Plainview christian academy. definitely not, Roosevelt, Crosbyton, Plainview High,
