Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School is an excellent place to learn and grow into fine young adults. Teachers are willing and able to prepare us for life after high school, whether or not we go to college! The art programs are awesome and I would especially like to recognize Mr. Brehse for his terrific enthusiasm for the arts! Faculty at the school are chosen for their kindness and their ability to build up students' mindfulness towards others. Mr. Pardy, our school's principal, is an excellent example of what our students become: well -rounded, kind, interested, warm and caring people. Those who become graduates go on to excel in their lives because of the lessons learned. We are truly our school's motto: President's Pride!!

Hyde Park is a well put together school district. I moved to Hyde Park when I was 12 starting in 6th grade and all the teachers and students made me feel welcome. I never experienced bulling or problems with any administrators. The schools in this district could improve there cooling and heat systems and there food. Because Hyde Park is in New York , we experience winter and summer every year. I feel as though it is necessary to have your students comfortable in class so they can concentrate on what’s important instead of worrying about the weather. The food quality should be improved because it’s mostly wasted. Many people who eat school lunch will only eat one thing then throw the rest out because it was disgusting or questionable. Students should be able to have a healthy meal without waste or worry. To conclude, Hyde park central school district is a very welcoming school district to all, like all schools it’s not perfect but it is a decent school to attend.
In my three years and counting at F.D.R. High School, I have had a number of mixed emotions about the place. I have experienced few good and fulfilling moments as a student. The staff are completely and utterly average with a few stand outs on either end of the spectrum. Most of the sports are excellent and the arts are very hit or miss. Unfortunately, the school does not spend nearly as much time or money on the arts as they do sports or STEM.
