HISD has a majority of teachers who care about their students. Academically they offer a great variety of course selection; regular classes, pre-ap, and AP classes. They are very safety oriented and the counselors offer great emotional help should a child need it. I would say as a whole the district is geared towards helping their students succeed in school but ultimately life. Students have opportunities to form life long bonds, and are set up for success. The Career program offers wonderful opportunities to forward a students success out of school offering certification that would otherwise cost money. They offer a clean environment, and enforce the rules strictly.

Being at Huntsville High School was one of the best years of my life! The sports had amazing coaches and teams, band was so great and there were clubs of every kind. Diversity is huge there and the Pre-Ap/AP courses really taught me a lot! I really felt safe there and the atmosphere is good. Lunches were well prepared and had a good variety.
I personally havent had a great experience this far, but a fairly okay experience. The food is fairly okay, and there is a good amount of choices. Your classes are easy to pick and change, but can be a hassle if it's a core class. The teachers are good except for a sour few.
The athletic department and theater department are both great for their in school academic opportunities and extracurricular activities.
