I think the real measure of a successful education is to follow the students after they leave and go on to higher education influenced by their basic education received. I know of many teachers one college professor at a prestigious college, a doctor, a computer expert, a chief of Police and that is just from knowing a few kids graduating from Alvirne High School. I am sure the list continues to be one we are very proud of.
I personally did not have a great experience with the Hudson school district. I am a child with special needs and I was provided with services however not the right ones. My parents were basically told that I would never be able to learn. I was homeschooled from grades 4-12. While homeschooling I went to Hills Garrison Elementary school for a class. I had a amazing teacher there. Due to health issues and anxiety. I did not go back to public school till 9th grade for a 30-40 minutes of services. I felt that everything was dumped down. I think I could have learned more if I had the opportunity. There music program at the high school is very good.
Wide range of academic courses for high school students. Interesting clubs and extra-curricular activities.
