Howell Township Public School District Reviews
HMSS is a wonderful school and the teachers are awesome for the most part. The gifted and talented program that is offered allows students to reach their full potential. The services for disabled children are also amazing, and it is very accommodating of their needs. Overall, a great school and school district!
My High School Experience at Howell H.S. was great! I found out how much I liked law in my senior year. I have been lucky enough to have amazing teachers and guidance counselors who care about me and have helped me with my college decisions. I do feel more often than not the students at Howell High School are very prepared for College, we have a variety of different level classes including Honors and AP. Our Principal is proactive about safety and it is much appreciated by the students and parents as well. I have made amazing friends and will always look back on my High School years and smile. It is very difficult to stay home even when I am sick. I love going to Howell High School. The only thing I would change is in the 2018/19 school year we went to block scheduling. I did prefer the old way.
Besides having the mascot be a confederate soldier, it's an alright school. I feel most teachers cared about you as a student, but were very strict. But I've also made teacher friends who I still keep in contact with. The school is known for their performing arts program, but FPAC students are more of a clique than a program. The administration made it clear they do not support LGBTQ+ students but say they do since there's a Gay-Straight Alliance club. In terms of diversity, a majority of students are white, but I was the only white person in my friend group.
