Hopatcong Borough Schools Reviews
Hopatcong is a very safe lake side community which makes for a very safe school. This High School is extremely small in comparison to surrounding schools, averaging at about 90 kids per-grade. While the lack of numbers makes for difficult challenges when it comes to participation in school events and athletics, it also makes for many advantages. Small class size, positive teacher-student relationships, hardly any strangers, strong team spirit and pride of our town. Hopatcong does not have a large or stable staff, but the handful of great teachers makes going to this school worth while. As an incoming Junior I am excited to take the AP classes which will prepare me for my college experience and to participate in the science league, aarow new staff, F.I.T Club, girls soccer team and track team for the third year in a row.
When I attend Hopatcong High School the culture of the school was much different. There were more students and the school seemed to be booming with incoming Freshman all the time. Now, the school barley can maintain an incoming class of over 100 and it is the saddest thing to see because a once prosperous school is now slowly diminishing right before my eyes. I would like to see more kids show an interest in their hometown and go to school where they live and not choose other local high schools.
I enjoy going to school. There is a lot of camaraderie at the school. There is something for everyone at the school.
