I've been in the Hood River County School District for my whole life. Starting in elementary, the language learning program helped me learn Spanish at an early age. This benefited me later in high school as I got though my language courses with ease. The school district elementary emphasized physical activity, healthy eating, and desire to learn. Through my elementary I got involved in competitive reading clubs that were both stimulating and fun. Later in middle school I got to experience both the Hood River Middle School for 6th grade and Wy'East Middle School for 7th and 8th grade. At both middle schools the teachers had very fun teaching styles and always pushed me to do my best. The food at each school has been brutally average, but the pros make up for the cons.

As far as safety is concerned the district is very safe, with security offices and secure policies that prevent any danger to students. The facilities are also constantly being improved and upgraded.

I love the teachers and friends I have made bonds with. Everyone was motivational and the resources were perfect to help me improve my work. They handled the Covid situation as best as they could and created many surveys so the students had a voice!
It’s a great school, but in some ways unaccomadating to lower levels. I think the administration try’s to be flexible, but intrinsic favoritism gets in the way. Besides that, I truly believe the teachers care greatly and the admin try to understand how they can work to make the school a better place. The students are focused on sports, art, and school heavily. I would say people find passions and time passers at HRV.
