The teachers here in Hillsborough, especially the high school, are good at what they do. I moved to Hillsborough in middle school and the environment was very different. A lot of the students here are high-achievers!
Review Hillsborough Township Public School District
Hillsborough High has been a fairly good school with a large amount of electives and an expansive athletics program, however this year, my third year attending he school, there has been numerous problems from mold in many classrooms, to the heating system breaking in the coldest week of winter, and of course the age-old problem of sever underspending in the arts department. Overall it could be worse but I would have liked to see the school spend less on athletics and more on basic necessities like heat and classrooms without mold.
Most of the teachers are very nice and supportive, however once in a while you will get a teacher who genuinely hates children and their job. For the most part though the teachers are well educated and really want to help their students. Almost all the teachers offer extra help, although this year with the teacher's union problems it has been more difficult for them. The guidance department and all of the higher authority figures such as the principal and vice principals are all very understanding and try to help the students as much as possible, however bureaucracy often gets in the way being it is such a large district. Classes vary in difficulty. There are many levels offered, so students can choose how much they want to challenge themselves. All considering, it is a good school however no high school is actually a good place to be.
