The district provides students with a myriad of ways to increase learning, develop better academic skills and challenge their students. Both with academic clubs as well as sports Hen Hud provides a safe environment for all students and is very inclusive, help all students make solid friendships. There are ample opportunities to "give back" to the community and the whole school always seems to rally behind anyone who needs help or is facing hardship. The administration is probably the only area that is lacking in this district and unfortunately that has left the schools in some disrepair.
I am a parent of 2 in the Hen Hud School District. I have lived in the area for over 12 years and cannot be happier. The sense of community and accessibility to teacher, Principal and District administration is something for other schools to emulate. The availability of advanced placement courses with college credits that is available to high school students is astounding. The extra help afforded to student is also above par. In my line of work I speak with parents through out the county and every time I mention our district they are always in awe of our district. Our district does not get the recognition it so deserves and that is unfortunate. Unfortunately I have to address another parents review on here. There is no mafia at Hen Hud. The PTA is like any other Non for Profit with Bylaws and members and the board members must be voted in . Its a democratic system that has checks an balances from NY PTA. Its a very welcoming district that does an amazing job.
Hen Hud offers a good amount of classes, and while we still don't have classes like AP Micro and Macro, we have plenty of other APs available. Hen Hud is really what you make of it; some kids don't go to college at all, and others go to ivies. The classes, teachers, and materials are available to each and every student. When students don't have access to a personal computer, they are given one to take home. The school is pretty considerate to everyone's needs. Also, it is a diverse school district in terms of race and socioeconomics. Our athletics are decent with one or two D1 commits each year, but no team is as good as the girl's volleyball team.
