Each of the schools seems to have its own unique culture, yet contribute to cohesive district values. The teachers and leaders care about the students and their families, and the district leaders are actually parts of the community! In our last district, we never saw the superintendent in the school buildings or out in the community. I feel like the initiatives coming forth take into consideration not just my children, but with EACH child considered for every decision! Hazelwood is an absolute gem!

I love many aspects of my school district.I loved how some of the teachers at the schools I attended really cared. I loved how some of my high school teachers stayed after school to make sure that students had the skills for college. The teachers in the school district also had a good connection with all of the students. Then finally the school district made sure that everyone were connected and stood as a family when we had a loss. Throughout my high school experience there were many of my classmates and one teacher that passed away. During the passing time, school still went on. Although, at school the school district brought counselors to the school to keep everyone's emotions in check. They made sure that we knew that we were not alone through the painful time period. They made sure that we stayed strong as a family. Two changes I believe that the school district needs is financial help and college ready education and courses in school.
Where do I begin?! Well I'll just start with freshman year, in my eyes Highschool was going to be the best years of my life. Well freshman year ruined that assumption. Sophomore year I matured a little and began to see the wrong and the rights of Hazelwood East Highschool and I was seeing a lot of wrongs everyday and nothing seemed to change about that. Here I am now as a Junior at Hazelwood East Highschool and I can honestly say that the teachers on my journey up to this present moment have all tried their very hardest to steer us in the correct direction for success. I hope to graduate with a little better taste in my mouth for Hazelwood East Highschool for I would hate to see things turn out even worse for the younger generations to come.
