Hayden has made my highschool experience a fantastic one so far. The School Spirit and Family environment is second to none. Because it is a small school, students have the advantage of more one-on-one attention, and are able to make personal relationships with teachers and staff. Hayden puts faith and family first always. Hayden pushes students academically with its great teachers. I would recommend Hayden to anyone looking for a quality catholic high school experience. - Molly, class of '23
As a senior attending high school here, I have a lot to say. I have thoroughly enjoyed my education here. I was raised in Hayden and love the town and people around here. We recently got a new school that holds the entire district and is such a wonderful addition to the town. The teachers do wholeheartedly love the students and love their jobs but still share some of the same concerns that students have. Over time, our extracurricular classes have been getting cut down. When I started 6th grade, we had home ec, woodshop classes, and a great band. Our woodshop soon got shut down along with home ec. And over the years the band has gotten so much smaller due to the constant change of teachers. I would love to see more extracurricular classes being offered in the district in order for students to express themselves. However, I also understand that there are reasons for classes being cut. Hayden is not the most wealthy town and our school is in debt. So, teachers got cut down.
What I liked about Hayden High School was the friendly environment and the motivations teachers gave the students to succeed.
With most of Hayden working in Steamboat, why would the school choose to be a 4 day per week school? look up the stats, it doesn’t actually save the district much money. Kids get tired from the longer school day. As a rural school, Hayden doesn’t need to have 4 day weeks to attract teachers. A resort town is 30 min away, that is incentive enough. get on the school board and Chang wit back to 5 day school week PEOPLE!!! it is you tax $$$$
It's a small school that allows for one on one interaction with teachers and faculty. However sometimes being a small school setting respect for teachers and faculty isn't always there. School pride is shown through sports and other activities that the school offers such as FBLA, theater, and speech and debate.
