The time I have spent with the Harlingen Consolidated School District has been quite an interesting one as there has been many experiences that have left me equal parts grateful as well as wishing there was far more done.
The high school I currently attend is one case in which I feel much more can be done with the issue being presented by the students and staff to the higher-ups making the decisions. Some decisions made are questionable, and others are downright detrimental in some instances.
There are many odd choices that would simply get introduced on such odd timing. Things like schedule changes mid-semester and unnecessary course trackers in high school made me feel as though there was a bit of scuffle in decision making among the staff. My high school experience felt much more disorganized than my Elementary and Middle School experiences. As a result, most if not all of my complaints and negative thoughts about the district stem from there.

Hello, my name is Leslie Jimenez and I am currently a senior at Early College High School connected with Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District. I have been in the HCISD school district since the beginning of my high school career and my experience has been nothing short of pleasant. They make sure the students, faculty, and staff are well cared for and that there is a good community. They keep up good morale with their employees and hold exciting events to make the students years more memorable. The teachers and staff they hire are always pleasant and greet their colleagues and students with smiles on their faces. They also always try their best to make the campus as safe and inclusive as possible to provide a safe learning environment. HCISD is a school district I would recommend and have never had a bad experience with them in all the years I have attended.
HCISD makes sure the schools in the Harlingen district are working at perfect conditions. All of the high schools I have had the chance to visit have been clean, from the classrooms to bathrooms. The high school staff at Harlingen Collegiate High feel more like family. When needed I can go to teachers for help. Our college advisor, Alexis Pemelton, helps with any questions we may have on colleges and scholarships.
