Half Hollow Hills Central School District Reviews
My experience has been amazing. The reason my parents won’t move until I graduate is because of the many music programs they offer. Every teacher I’ve had has been very open to questions and extra help. The only thing I hope will change in the future is more encouragement from guidance counselors. The counselors don’t have much respect for students involved in music. My district should also give the same opportunities to both high schools, and not just favor the bigger one.
Half Hollow Hills High School East is a very diverse place. The school offers many different clubs for students to find their place and meet new people. I find that my school is a very welcoming, positive and friendly place. Coming in as a freshman I was scared, as anyone would be. My teachers were welcoming and understanding about how this new atmosphere could be intimidating for a 14 year old. As the years went on I made strong relationships with my teachers. The amazing staff is one component of my high school that I was lucky enough to have throughout my high school career. One change I would like to see is the enthusiasm in school spirit. We have many types of school events such as pep rallying, homecoming, and spirit week. The staff is always involved but it’s time to get the students involved all the time as well.
I have been in the district for soon to my entire k-12 education and it has been very enjoyable, of course it still has certain aspects which it needs some work but this shouldn’t be seen as very poor in its teaching but quite the opposite it has focus a lot of its read pieces on its teaching which I would say pay off but in the future I would like to see the district expand its possibilities with extracurricular activities like it’s robotics team they have created. More interaction with other clubs could also be beneficial for its schools which has already been done but has not seen much but just a handful of clubs which is not quite impressive. Hopefully the district will continue to bring great education to its people and fix the areas that needs some attention.
