My experience at Griffith High School has given me many opportunities. The teachers at the school are very helpful at any time i am in need of help. The students always bond from different things throughout the school year. The counselors have made sure we are able to graduate and go to the colleges we are able to. I have gotten a very good education and was able to finish college courses within my high school. The administration takes their time in order to get closer to the students. The roughest part of my experience here, was quarantine during the pandemic. I wasn’t able to socialize with teachers and peers and the education wasn’t at the level when we were in the school.
I liked the fact that it was a small community with teachers who went above and beyond for their students. Class sizes were on the larger side of average, but I still was able to get the education I needed. I would like to see less of throwing teachers and students into brand new situations without much help but more of coming together as one community of teachers, students, and administration. I enjoyed my time; there were many extracurriculars that kept me busy and happy. But sometimes the admin needs to listen to its teacher and student body more often.
I would like to see more parent and student activities within the public schools . also we could get better food choices nobody likes the school food at all. I would also like to see more diversity such as having different ethnicities meet up with each other and learn something different, new things can ALWAYS be learned on a daily basis. There could also be more events that reward great behavior, grades, etc. because we don’t have enough of that here. Some examples of rewarding great behaviors could be to allow the students the ability to eat outside in the courtyards or just outside in general, of course under the supervision of adults. Another thing could be that students get “money” so to say and that will cover the costs of ice cream, sweets, and maybe some catering that could happen. So there are some ideas that could improve our schools here in the Spalding county areas.
