Gretna is a school district that is home to a lot of very good teachers. There are many opportunities for students who are interested in a plethora of things. I think the classes and activities offered at gretna are fun, educational, and run by excellent leaders. The only think lacking is the diversity at Gretna. While the school district can’t really change that, what could be changed is how we learn things and what we learn so that the students can be exposed to more diversity. This will help strengthen the preparation that Gretna is supplying their students with.
Gretna Public Schools has well constructed schools and a wide range of available to technology. They lack a well structured accountability policy. In the district, they have a "no fail" policy which allows all failing tests to be redone to earn a 70%. They also do not allow extra credit and for students to achieve above a 4.0. This punishes the students who excel academically and this eliminates the ability for class rank that a lot of colleges require. Overall, the staff is friendly and their are multiple teachers that care about their students.
Teachers are always so helpful and try their best to get to know each student! I'm proud to be a part of this positive atmosphere. Everyone in this school district tries to do their best every day.
