I have spent my entire school experience in the Greenville County School District. I have had an overall positive experience in the 3 elementary schools I attended, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. My favorite experiences have been the field trips and athletic opportunities. My least favorite things are the lack of guidance support. I was severely bullied in elementary school and requested a meeting with guidance with my parents and we were ignored. In high school, students who didn't have parents help them navigate college applications and other prep were left behind. My mom helped me so I have turned out well. There are a lot of STEM opportunities, but choose the schools wisely especially middle school. I recommend this district as most student I know have a bright future ahead of them!

My experience with Greenville County Schools District has been nothing less than magnificent. This is by far, the best district in South Carolina. They strive for student excellence in all categorizes: academics, athletics, or any extracurricular activities. They provide students with college readiness through their courses by applying students to the work and aiding in realising their full potential as a student. Their academic expectations surpass that of all other districts and students are challenged to meet these expectations, which many do. Greenville County Schools has an amazing staff that takes every step to ensure a student’s readiness for the next level. I am definitely honoured to say and thankful to have experienced being a student in this School District. Through those 4 years, the staff of this District have shaped me into the individual i have become today. Thank you, Greenville County Schools.
My son has been in Greenville County for over six years. The class sizes are very large and resources have been extremely limited. He is enrolled at a large high school and I have been happy with the variety of classes available.
Like all school districts, there is a lack of funding with regards to special education. More students are being diagnosed with learning disabilities and support is very limited and stretched in many public schools.
Fortunately, my son has not had to take advantage of special education opportunities. However, this aspect of his school will influence my decision to send his siblings there.
