Rating 4.04 out of 5 145 reviews
I have been a part of the Green Bay Public School District since Kindergarten, and my experience has been very positive. My favorite part about the district is the attentiveness of the educators, who foster student learning and innovation. Still, there is room for improvement. I find that a lot of capable students don't have access to certain resources because they are deemed "too difficult", even when the student is more than equipped to handle the material. On the other hand, many students are not made aware of the resources that they have to prepare for college-level material.
I attend Green Bay East, one thing I really enjoy about that school is that you are free to be yourself and show your culture. East is a very accepting school. Others may not see East as a great school but so many successful individuals come out of East and people think that all the students are doing the "bad stuff" and making East look bad, but in reality it is the same 25 kids. I think the part that is at the bottom of the list about going to East is that it is harder to get noticed by colleges in the sports world because even though we have people who have a passion for a sport, the sports program doesn't pull off wins very hard. I also think another thing that is at the bottom of the list is how underestimated we are, not from the teachers but from the community. I find it amazing that all the teachers and staff get to know the kids for who they are as individuals and not as a whole, the teachers also leave it up to the students if they want to have that connection or not.
One of the things that I like about the Green Bay Public School District is the diversity that are in the schools. I feel like I have got a good experience that I can carry on and use throughout the rest of my life. One thing though that I disliked about the Green Bay Area Public School District was their policies during COVID. It was really difficult to navigate school, and I wish they could've took student/parent ideas more into consideration during that time.
