Greeley-Evans School District 6 Reviews
I really enjoy the involvement of all of the parents and teachers with the students. We are all one big family who support each other in everything that we do. If I ever need anything at all, I can always turn to my teachers. They will always explain topics to me that I do not understand, assist me in getting what I want out of a class, and always provide support beyond the classroom. Most of my teachers are interested in my life outside of school and they take time to get to know me. I do wish we had more funding for extra curricular activities, but overall, I love this district!
I spent four years at Greeley West High School. The staff in this district are hard-working, dedicated, and absolutely life-changing. While I am biased, I do know that the teachers always did the best they could, even with a lack of resources. Our teachers were patient and understanding and allowed us to be teenagers while still giving us the best education possible. While I attended the school it was overcrowded, sometimes messy, and had some disciplinary problems. A lot of those things improved with a different administration, but it still is far from perfect. Besides the severe lack of funding, there is a focus more on test scores rather than actual knowledge and learning. Additionally, there is little to no parent involvement in a lot of areas. I think that this school district and Greeley West High School could be excellent if they increased their funding and allowed their students to focus on all areas of education rather than just standardized testing.
The superintendent of the Greeley 6 schools is leading such amazing change that the state educational community has taken notice. I have taught in schools in three different states and had my own kids attend the schools and I have never seen staff that is working harder todo what is best for students. Everything from creating equity for each student, support for the whole child including social and emotional health, to rapidly rising test scores. I cannot be more positive about the direction the district is taking.
