What was enjoyable about Governor Wentworth School District is the Lakes Region Technology center. LRTC was a great experience for high school students who want to work beyond school but the rest of the school lacked. Grading scales in the time of the pandemic where handled poorly and most of the staff at the school handled situations poorly and it constantly felt as the health and concerns of the students were not cared for. Every visit to a school counselor for help on college or mental help was a circle that never lead to anywhere.
There is a positive learning environment, and all of the teachers are very helpful. However, the school does not offer a wide range of courses, and block scheduling is very frustrating and makes no sense.
You get out of this school what you put into it. The teachers are dedicated and well trained. the student body is diverse and learning to be more tolerant of diversity all the time. As we went to emergency remote learning, the teachers have done a great job and the administration cares a great deal.
