Glens Falls is a great community. Being a somewhat small school, everyone is close and comes together well for community events like games and shows! The district is known as GF Nation for their commitment, togetherness and academic as well as athletic drive for success.
I used to go to South Glens Falls High School all the way up until sophomore year. I have an older sister who previously went to South High as well and she transferred to Glens Falls when she finished freshmen year, so I followed in her footsteps. I never would have thought that there could be so much positive change from one high school to another. Right away on my first day at Glens Falls, I was greeted by a few kids who took me right into their friend group and I am still friends with them to this day. The first positive change I noticed is how the students are so nice to one another and you can tell they actually care about one another, which was not the case at my old high school. The second thing I noticed is how friendly the teachers and staff were. The third and one of the largest changes I was introduced to, were the athletic teams I became a part of. I realized right away how close everyone was to one another and how everyone had each other's backs.
The administration handles things poorly, and the students get treated poorly. Bullying is supposed to have a zero tolerance policy, but school administrators ignore it and nothing gets solved. The teachers do treat students with respect and give lots of opportunities for extra help.
