The academics at Glen Lake are restrictive and they don’t offer sufficient options for college-bound students. Their AP offerings are abismal and the administration does not seem dedicated to preparing students for university success. The teachers are truly wonderful and teach their classes incredibly well, but they and the students are stifled by a lack of academic support.

Many students and parents are pushed to dual enroll in the local community classes rather than having their needs met at the school. This is unacceptable given the fact that these classes are not to the caliber of AP courses nor do they earn students college credit at U of M or any out of state school

Glen Lake has many improvements to make if they really want to be the serious academic institution they claim to be. The administratin and classes hold students back, many of us ending up going to community college because we aren't pushed to go farther. The students aren't challenged by the classes offered and there are very few APs. Try Leland instead.
Good academic staff at this school, good teachers, and good opportunities. I wish there were more advanced classes, and I wish there were more extracurricular opportunities like more academic clubs/competitions.
