Students are given very flexible scheduling which can be a huge upside, and the staff and extracurricular activities are some of the best in state. Once vital classes such as drivers ed, home economics, and economics in general, classes preparing students for the future have since been replaced for more classes under the STEM category. This is a huge disappointment as most students graduated with more academic preparedness but little to none in real world adulthood.

I really liked the engagement between the faculty and the students. The administration had a wonderful open door policy and sought out our input on various topics. There was also a wide variety of classes and class options that gave multiple opportunities for the students to try out different classes. There was also great school spirit at Gilford and this made the sporting events fun to attend or play at. The school and district does a great job at getting into the community and being involved there.
I feel the Gilford school system is very good. We had some difficult experiences and also some very good experiences. Some teachers/faculty are more thoughtful and understanding then others.
