The Giles County School District is a over-all decent district. Some schools out shine the rest. Richland High School is a building full of staff who are friendly and eager to assist students as they journey through high school. They are happy to teach and further educate students as they strive to reach their goals. Many teachers have claimed their students as their children truly wishing and hoping for their success. As you walk down the hallways at Richland High School you will not see a bleak ,strenuous environment no you will see a happy excited one. An example of a family atmosphere shown at these schools is when we were recently "roaring" for Maddox. Maddox is a student who attended Richland and had gone through heart surgery. After continues complications he finally left this world, however the staff and student at Richland stood by his family and helped raise funds for his family. This is one of many things the Richland family has done for a member.
My experience with Giles County Schools overall has been good, I have two children 12th and 8th grade with very different personalities. My 8th grader is very talkative, where my 12th grader is laid back. I must say I was very scared when he went high school, but with the different cultures and activities has helped him grow and be more involved I must say I have loved his high school years.
Giles County School District wasn't necessarily bad, but I do wish the school's atmosphere changed to be a more positive one than negative.
