Giles County Public Schools Reviews
My overall experience with Giles County Public Schools is a three star experience. The faculty, staff, and community is very friendly and accommodating. However, the opportunities offered are limited. Certain sports teams are not treated as well as other sports teams, and there tends to be favorites chosen regarding which students get which opportunities. The free water accessibility is close to none. Most water fountains do not work or have lead in them.
Disappointing. The water fountains aren’t safe to drink out of because they have lead pipes. Have they fixed this problem? No. 2/50 of the stage lights work. The students here are racist and homophobic. Most teachers there are great but there are a select few who are terrible. This school offers no AP or apush courses, students can take courses at the local community college. However if students choose to take these through distance learning the equipment doesn’t always work. GHS doesn’t offer courses that other schools offer such as statistics and physics. students who are ahead usually run out of maths to take.
Giles High School is in a tight knit community. Everyone from the kindergartners to the elders come out to watch the Friday football games at the high school. Some of my best memories so far have been on one of those Friday nights. Since everyone has this love of football in common, the school atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Everyone seems to accept everyone no matter race or gender. What the school lacks in academics, it makes it up with the people.
