Geneseo Community Unit School District No. 228 Reviews
Going to Geneseo was good and I believe with the advanced classes and dual credit opportunities that are offered it prepared me well for college. However, it was difficult being a minority in a predominantly white school district so I would like to see change with teachers and administrators attitudes toward minorities.
Overall, academics and the environment the school provides are great, but the close mindedness of the community and therefore the students can be stifling. Student involvement is good, but the clubs are limited by the advisors and administration. It usually feels safe, but again the close-minded and conservative views of most of the school are worrying at times
The academics are great, but it's hard to be academically advanced when the community and curriculum isn't diverse.
