I was a part of the Gateway school district for ten years. The diversity and inclusiveness was very notable. My plans for college include music education. While music was my main focus I was also in the gifted program and taking all honors classes. My honors classes began to interfere with my music in my schedule making it impossible to be doing both. Also I was a part of the orchestra and the wind ensemble but I was forced to do both during one period and have the teachers fight over which days I went to which class. The arts take a back seat to football and sports and are still accused of taking too much money from the school, while most of the money is received from fundraising.

Gateway School is overall an average school. The school is ranked 7th in the state but the children that attend the school make it depressing and not worth going. Being a student there since elementary school I enjoyed the teachers except for a total of maybe five teachers due to their teaching style or the fact that they do not know what they are teaching about. I enjoyed most of the teachers since they are approachable in the sense of if you need help you can go to them. Not many teachers have that, others just could not care if you pass or fail. I wish the school was better than this, all the issue includes the students who make the learning environment impossible to learn in or the teachers who just could care less about their students.
Gateway School district is a very diverse community. There are so many clubs, organizations, and athletics throughout. Being apart of something so diverse and amazing really helps students learn. From helping each other with sports or in the classroom everyone in Gateway is hands on.
