My experience with Gary Community School Corporation has been exceptionally well. For example, the staff here are more than just administrators. Not only do they perform qualities of their best ability to make sure students achieve academic success but they also care for their students as if they were their children. I’ve been comforted and advised by teachers when I was very low and just needed someone to talk to. This is essential because it helps establish a bond and understanding between staff and students. This results in teachers expecting more from you and you not wanting to let them down because you’ve formed a feel of admiration for them. It also incorporates programs like J.A.G that helps make you aware of your options after high school. I wish I could go on and on about the good things in the Gary Community School Corporation because all that is mentioned is the poor ones. This Corporation is not perfect but with a little more funds it can be improved.
It Was Perfect Until The Decision To Close Emerson . That Was The Worst Mistake Ever Made. Students Been There Since 5th And 6th Grade ! How Can You Just Snatch Their Home From Them ?? Their Arts ? Their Teachers Who Know Them ALL By Name ?? This Is Sad . Only School Still Standing In Miller & You Close It . Half Of The Students Will Not Be Attending West Side ! Anybody Could’ve Came In And Closer A School. That’s Not Helping Us And The Other Students That’s Helping YOU GUYS Get Out Your Financial Hole You Guys Created Not The Students ! Sad And A Disgrace ! The Kids Didn’t Derserve To Be Hurt And Separated Like This !
I want Wirt-Emerson Visual and Performing Arts High Ability Academy to remain open. I love my school. It has made me a better person academically, and made me realize my talent.
