The GISD campuses are absolutely great! I've learned so much from my teachers and higher ups, and I feel as though I am fully prepared for college. I have been given all of the learning opportunities needed to succeed, such as tutoring or collaboration work, and even an associate's degree I will be earning next year as a senior. This school district is absolutely the best and is a perfect fit for anyone who is ready to take on a challenge!
The teachers at this school district, for the most part, are fantastic. There is a wide variety of academic programs that students can choose to enroll themselves in. Similarly, there are many clubs that students can choose to join. Overall, there are a lot of opportunities for students to stand out. There need to be more student resources for mental health. Teachers are very undervalued by the administration at times. Some schools are quite unsafe. Some buildings are very old and are in desperate need of renovation. There are some teachers who are complete outliers: they are unprepared for the curriculum that they are teaching.
I love it! It's rather diverse, the teachers are good people, and the academics are good, too. The only complaints I have are the bonkers rules at times, although most of the time it's for security or because someone else ruined things for the rest of us.
