Garden City High School is different than other high schools in the area, it’s a new building with many windows—sometimes the hall you’re walking in is made of windows (which I love when it snows)—but, it really offers amazing opportunities. There are different academies in our school that help facilitate your needs. The different academies are there to help you choose what you would like to do in a future career or college. There is an outstanding amount of art classes, theatre, culinary, orchestra and band along with many stem courses, welding, agricultural science and more. Everyone is welcome to an environment where they are allowed to learn and grow, there are constant student based events during or after school where students can meet colleges or future employers, and others where they can connect to other students and people in the community. Sports, other extracurriculars and clubs are also present in the school and help students spread their wings and fly into their future.
I just became a senior and it’s crazy just thinking about it. One more year of my high school life at Garden City High School. I know college will be very different from high school but I have really enjoyed my experience here.
One of the best things about this school are sports. The schools aren’t afraid of investing into the sports department. When meets come for sports we get really fancy buses that include charges. We have our own football field right now to the school and even tennis courts. They also care about their students and want them to do good in school too.
The teachers here are great and like any school their are few teachers that aren’t the best but the majority of them are amazing. They really care about what you learn, and try to teach you in the best way they can. The counselors are also very helpful they have the best attitude always and will always help you.
Overall this school is great, it has some of the best teachers and invest in their student’s learning.

This school cares more about athletics than academics. They would rather spend money on uniforms or equipment than better musical instruments or updated computers. Teachers say they are willing to help you succeed but when you asked for their help they say they are to busy to help you. The food here is terrible; the food is disgusting and the meal proportions are small. There are some teachers, music teachers, that are willing to help you with anything. They want to you finish your homework so you don't fail the class, they are willing to help with you classes, they want you to go to college, etc. They will help you in your personal life and help you come up with the best decision for you. They want to see you succeed in life and are willing to help you get there.
