I actually came to Galeton as a senior. It was definitely a large change to my life. I didn’t want to have to start fresh with only one year of school left, especially considering how comfortable I was at my old school. However, after a few days in the school I realized that I might as well adjust and meet people to make life more bearable. I quickly realized how open and accepting the school really was. Now I am an active member of student council, travel club, drama club, yellow ribbon, yearbook, and my senior class in general. It may be a small school, but that just makes everyone closer to one another. In all honesty I wouldn’t change anything about Galeton. The people I now love make the move all worth it. Not to mention the teachers that do the best they can to help make everyone’s life better. We are a family now and I wouldn’t want to change that for the world.
This school district has potential if given more opportunities. Facilities such as the tennis courts are lacking. Overall, I would not send my own child here.
Galeton was located in a extremely small town. The life of this town was the school. So athletics weren’t half bad because everyone would go to the games. But since it was so small it was basically run by the parents. If a student got a bad grade the parent would go to the school get involved create all this drama. That’s pretty much how it always was. Since everyone knew each other there were no boundaries. Parents ran that school I felt like it was so watered down and easy because if a teacher did make it difficult they would here it from the parents. In no way did this prep me for college
