Freeport High School has taught me many things throughout these four years. Every school has a different way of giving students different experiences. I like many things about this school, it has given me many opportunities. The classes they offer prepared me for what I want to do, which is Early Childhood Education. I like the teachers in the district, they have helped me in and out of school. I like helping other students who do not know how to speak English. I like the way I can connect to others and their cultures. This district has helped me prepare myself for the future and I liked that I got to learn and grow with the class of 2020. Freeport High School has helped me become who I am today.

The school isn't bad if you are self-motivated or have a lot of people cheering for you, but if you don't have a lot of support you're probably not going to get very far. The administration favors the students who are more involved and performing well academically and doesn't pay very much attention to anyone else. There is a college and career center which is very helpful, but you have to seek it out to get any help or resources. A lot of students here don't care about education and most people just do the bare minimum to get by, so there isn't much competition among students to be higher in the class or anything like that.
The teachers are helpful and prepared. They are always willing to stay late to give students support. A variety of courses are offered. We could use more access to technology and real world experiences. We also need more college prep experiences besides academics.

Our city has had some tough financial times, so we don't have a lot of money for extras. Our building is historically interesting, but we don't have enough money for updates. Other schools in our conference have access to resources we don't have.

But, we have a lot of school spirit and pride. We are lucky to have many activities, sports, and clubs to choose from. We need to be in a different conference for sports because we have to participate with schools twice our size. Yet we still have winning seasons in many of our sports and competitive clubs.
