Freeman School District Reviews
Freeman was a great environment to grow up in. The elementary school teachers cared a lot about individual improvements and achievements, and those were the best years I experienced at this school. When I got to the age of entering high school, the teachers and staff were completely different. They were obnlivious to what students had going on at home, and they didn't try to get to know students unless they were well known. I experienced high school and tried to make the best of it, but the main influences that allow students to feel safe didn't act as role models. If I could change anything at this school, it would be the communication between the staff of the school and the students. There have been so many times where I have had to talk to teachers about graduation and scholarships when it should have been an obvious subject to educate student on.
Freeman High School truly shows what it means to have a community that is like family. It's a small town with excellent teachers, an amazing community, and even better students. Being a 13 year senior at this district, I can say that I wouldn't of spent these years of my childhood anywhere else. Since the school shooting, we've been tested, and you can truly see that no other school would be able to handle something this hard and bounce back as quickly as us.
Typical close-knit, small school, that comes with the difficulties of exclusion and PR stunts. However, staff is passionate in what they do and students are very friendly with one another. I was not faced with any challenging classes-limited honors/AP classes.
